Year 261 After the Conquest (261 AC) is a year in the Westerosi calendar, the 261st after Aegon's crowning in Oldtown that maesters and educated people use as a reference to date the years.
In 261 AC, the young Ser Tywin Lannister overpassed his lord father and brutally exterminated Houses Reyne and Tarbeck, as a response to their revolt against Casterly Rock.
