History
Amarei was born as a daughter of House Crakehall. She was married to Lord Walder Frey as his third wife, after his second wife, Cyrenna Swann, had died. Amarei gave her husband seven children: Ser Hosteen, Lythene, Symond, Ser Danwell, Merrett, Ser Geremy, and Ser Raymund Frey.[3]
Amarei's children and grandchildren often maintain the Crakehall look, tending to be big-boned and strong. Her granddaughters are strong, with wide hips and large breasts.[4] Merrett was sent to Crakehall to serve his mother's family as a page and later squired for Lord Sumner Crakehall.[5]
Recent History
A Game of Thrones
Lord Walder recalls when Ser Hosteen and Ser Danwell were unhorsed at a tourney held in King's Landing in 298 AC. Disappointed by their performance, Walder tells Lady Catelyn Stark that he sometimes ponders if they are his actual sons, for "all of the Crakehall women are sluts".[1]
A Storm of Swords
Lord Walder selects Roslin Frey to wed Lord Edmure Tully, though Catelyn prefers Amarei's granddaughters for their wide hips to bear children, big breasts to nurse them, and strong arms to carry them.[4]
