Butterwell (Hand of the King)
He was renowned for his wit.
When King Aegon IV Targaryen visited Lord Butterwell's castle he gifted him with a dragon egg in return for "access" to his three maiden daughters. According to tales, Aegon impregnated all three girls the same night.
He had Whitewalls built, the pale castle was commonly called the Milkhouse by the smallfolk who lived near it. Its walls, keep, and towers were made of white stone quarried in the Vale of Arryn, and its floors and pillars were crafted from white marble veined with gold. The rafters were carved from the trunks of weirwoods.
A Storm of Swords
Lord Davos Seaworth, now Hand of the King to Stannis Baratheon, is concerned that he has risen too high from his humble origins. When Davos suggests that the Hand should be someone who is wise, Maester Pylos reminds him that the intelligent Lord Butterwell was an unsuccessful Hand.
