Jeyne was a possible marriage candidate for King Aegon III Targaryen. She was one of the many maidens injured or scandalized, and suffered what was called the "Maiden's Day curse". Not long after the ball known as the Maiden's Day Cattle Show was announced, it was put about that Jeyne Mooton liked to dress in squire's garb, visiting the brothels along the Street of Silk to kiss and fondle the women there as if they were boys. It was possible that this was a rumor fabricated by Lord Unwin Peake, who wished to promote his own daughter as Aegon III's second queen.
Jeyne's relation to the head of the house, Lord Manfryd Mooton, is unknown.
