One Eye is a wolf. He is one of the three wolves that Varamyr can enter into as a skinchanger, and the head of the pack.
Appearance and Character
One Eye is the biggest of Varamyr's wolves and the oldest. While Stalker is leaner and quicker, and Sly more cunning, One Eye is the largest and the fiercest.[1] One Eye has grey-brown fur,[1] a grizzled white muzzle, and is blind in one eye.[2] When Sly goes into heat, One Eye is the wolf that mounts her, not Stalker.[1]
Recent Events
A Dance with Dragons
One Eye, Stalker, and Sly chase down and kill a party of wildlings for food. Varamyr considers which of his animals he will enter into when he dies, and thinks the younger Stalker might suit him, but prefers One Eye. Varamyr dies, and enters One Eye for his second life.[3]
Bran Stark's direwolf Summer encounters the wolf pack eating the remains of the dead Night's Watch deserters. Summer sees that One Eye is not afraid of him even though he is twice the wolf's size. He realizes that One Eye has a warg within him, and they fight. After defeating One Eye and making him submit, Summer makes Stalker and Sly submit as well, and takes over leadership of the pack.[2]
Near the cave of the last greenseer, Summer and the pack find a wight snow bear, and tear it to pieces and devour it, even though the rotten meat still moves while they eat it.[4]
