History
The Onyx Emperor was a ruler of the Great Empire of the Dawn.[11]
The helm of Ser Lucas Inchfield was decorated with an onyx spider to represent House Webber.[12] While disguised as Egg, Prince Aegon Targarye kept hidden a gold and onyx signet depicting the arms of his father, Prince Maekar Targaryen.[12]
When King Robert I Baratheon wed Cersei Lannister, the cloak draped upon Cersei's back was decorated with the Baratheon stag in beads of onyx.[13]

The Tourmaline Brotherhood gives Daenerys Targaryen a dragon crown with three heads carved from ivory, jade, and onyx.[3] Xaro Xhoan Daxos gives her a thousand miniature knights carved of amber, amethyst, beryl, jade, onyx, opal, and tourmaline, with armor of silver and gold.[3]
A Storm of Swords
The seven-sided golden chalice given by Lord Mace Tyrell to King Joffrey I Baratheon has an onyx stag to represent House Baratheon.[14] During his wedding feast, Joffrey wears a doublet with onyx studs.[15]
A Dance with Dragons
Ser Balon Swann clasps his Kingsguard cloak with a silver brooch with battling ivory and onyx swans.[16]
