|| Warning |
This information has thus far been released in a sample chapter for The Winds of Winter, and might therefore not be in finalized form. Keep in mind that the content as described below is still subject to change.
Ser Roland accompanies his grandmother Lady Anya, his younger uncle Ser Wallace Waynwood and his cousin Ser Harrold Hardyng to the Gates of the Moon to participate in the tourney there.
- ↑ According to the Alayne TWOW sample chapter, Roland Waynwood is the grandson of Lady Anya Waynwood and the nephew of Ser Wallace Waynwood, Anya's third son. Unless one of Anya's daughters married a Waynwood, this only leaves Anya's two oldest sons as Roland's progenitor. Since the second oldest son, Ser Donnel Waynwood, was born in either 278 or 277 AC (see Donnel Waynwood), and Roland was born in or between 274 AC and 281 AC (see Roland Waynwood), it would be impossible for Roland to have been Donnel's son, leaving only Morton.
