Roland Waynwood is a knight of House Waynwood. He is a grandson of Anya Waynwood, the Lady of Ironoaks. He appears to be the son of Lady Anya's heir, Ser Morton Waynwood.[N 1]

Appearance and Character
Roland has a long face and is lantern-jawed. He has stringy brown hair and a pinched nose. Sansa Stark considers him to be horsefaced and homely. He is proud of his knighthood.[1]

Ser Roland accompanies his grandmother Lady Anya, his younger uncle Ser Wallace Waynwood and his cousin Ser Harrold Hardyng to the Gates of the Moon to participate in the tourney there.[1]

- ↑ According to the Alayne TWOW sample chapter, Roland Waynwood is the grandson of Lady Anya Waynwood and the nephew of Ser Wallace Waynwood, Anya's third son. Unless one of Anya's daughters married a Waynwood, this only leaves Anya's two oldest sons as Roland's progenitor. Since the second oldest son, Ser Donnel Waynwood, was born in either 278 or 277 AC (see Donnel Waynwood), and Roland was born in or between 274 AC and 281 AC (see Roland Waynwood), it would be impossible for Roland to have been Donnel's son, leaving only Morton.
