Cerelle Lannister was the Lady of Casterly Rock and the head of House Lannister during the beginning of King Aerys I Targaryen's reign.[1]

History

When her father died in 212 AC, Cerelle succeeded him as the Lady of Casterly Rock at the age of three. Her uncle Gerold Lannister served as her regent.[1]

Cerelle's rule would last for less than a year, as she herself suddenly passed away in 213 AC. Upon her death, she was succeeded by her uncle Gerold as Lord of Casterly Rock. As both Lady Cerelle and her father died suddenly and under suspicious circumstances, it was whispered that their deaths had been caused by Gerold, allowing him to inherit rule of Casterly Rock.[1] The most common tale was that Gerold had murdered his niece himself, smothering her with a pillow as she slept.[3]

Cerelle's death earned Gerold little love, for some nobles and many smallfolk blamed him for his niece's death. Lady Ellyn Tarbeck later named a daughter after Lady Cerelle to slight Gerold.[3]

Family

Lady Cerelle was the only child of Lord Tybolt Lannister and Lady Teora Kyndall. As her father's only heir, she briefly succeeded him as the Lady of Casterly Rock when he passed away.[1]

Notes:
  1. In 298 AC, it has been roughly ninety years ago since Gowen and Tya were wed, placing their marriage around 208 AC. Therefore Tya was a contemporary to Lords Damon (d.210 AC) and Tybolt (d.212 AC).
