History
Gaemon was the son of Lord Aenar Targaryen and had at least one sister, Daenys Targaryen. He came to Dragonstone along his family in 114 BC.[2][4]
Gaemon was married to Daenys and together they had several children, Aegon, Elaena,[2][4] and at least one younger daughter.[5] Aegon and Elaena eventually inherited the rule of Dragonstone from Gaemon.[2][4]
Legacy
Gaemon was called "Gaemon the Glorious", and he is remembered as the greatest Targaryen Lord of Dragonstone during the Century of Blood.[5]
King Jaehaerys I Targaryen named his eleventh child after Lord Gaemon. Sadly, the babe came early and Prince Gaemon died short of three moons old.[6]
One of the fourteen claimants at the Great Council in 101 AC was Gaemon's descendant through his younger daughter.[5]
