The Hall of a Hundred Hearths is the largest hall at Harrenhal.

The Hall of a Hundred Hearths is a cavernous and drafty room at Harrenhal, larger than even the throne room of the Red Keep.[1]

Huge hearths are arranged along the walls every ten feet or so.[1] Despite its name, it only contains thirty-some hearths.[2] The hall has a smooth slate floor and two galleries.[1]

A Clash of Kings

While serving incognito at Harrenhal, Arya Stark tries to count the number of hearths in the great hall, counting thirty-three on one occasion and then thirty-five on another. Arya thinks the Hall of a Hundred Hearths could host all of Lord Tywin Lannister's army if he so desired. Tywin's captives eat at their own table in the hall.[2]

Harrenhal is left nearly empty once Tywin's army marches west to confront Robb Stark, so Ser Amory Lorch closes off the Hall of a Hundred Hearths.[3] The castle then falls to Lord Roose Bolton.[3]

A Storm of Swords

Roose, Ser Jaime Lannister, and Brienne of Tarth eat a meal at a lone trestle table in the center of the empty hall.[1]

During the capture of Harrenhal by the Mountain's men, Ser Gregor Clegane finds a fevered Vargo Hoat sitting alone in the Hall of a Hundred Hearths.[4]

A Feast for Crows

Jaime is tasked with restoring order to the riverlands. When he returns to Harrenhal, he has Rafford gather the castle's occupants, including the garrison and captives, to the Hall of a Hundred Hearths for him to review. Jaime has fires lit in the hall so that his own men can eat, and he then has a private meal with Ser Bonifer Hasty in the Hunter's Hall.[5]

Huge hearths lined the walls, one every ten feet or so, more than he could count, but no fires had been lit, so the chill between the walls went bone-deep.[1]
