Lord Caswell was the Lord of Bitterbridge and the head of House Caswell during the reigns of kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen.[1]
In the television adaptation House of the Dragon, he is named Allun Caswell and portrayed by Paul Hickey.
History
At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Caswell was arrested and put in the Red Keep's dungeons by Aegon II Targaryen's supporters for supporting his half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. When given the choice between swearing his allegiance to Aegon II or being killed by the King's Justice, Lord Caswell was one of the nobles who chose to keep their sworn words and were beheaded for it. Their heads were mounted on spikes above the city’s gates.[1]
As Lord Caswell's son and successor was still a young child,[2] the Bastard of Bitterbridge, Tom Flowers, took command of the Caswell men in the field,[3][1] while Lord Caswell's widow, Lady Caswell, ruled Bitterbridge in the name of her young son.[1]
