Maryam was a septa at Dragonstone and a member of Princess Rhaena Targaryen's household.[1]

Septa Maryam was considered young in 54 AC.[1]
History
Septa Maryam was one of Rhaena's newer companions at the time of her death in 54 AC. At first, it was thought she had died of an illness. Later, it was revealed that she had been poisoned with the tears of Lys by Rhaena's husband, Androw Farman, who was jealous of Rhaena's friendships with her ladies and weary of their mockery toward him.[1]
Rhaena much lamented her death, and Septa Edyth was sent to Dragonstone in her place.[1]
