Pate of Longleaf
|Pate of Longleaf|
|Alias||Longleaf the Lionslayer|
|Died||In 130 AC, Tumbleton|
Pate served as a squire in the Battle at the Red Fork, during which he mortally wounded Lord Jason Lannister in the third attack by the greens. Lord Petyr Piper granted knighthood to Pate afterward. Longleaf the Lionslayer led a ragged band of survivors from earlier battles to join Lords Bigglestone, Chambers, and Perryn at the Battle by the Lakeshore.
Ser Criston Cole offered single combat to Pate, Lord Roderick Dustin, and Ser Garibald Grey at the Butcher's Ball, but all refused him. Criston was instead slain by Robb Rivers' arrows and his host was destroyed.
I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker. There's tens o' thousands dead on your account.—Pate to Criston Cole
