|Taking of Storm's End|
|Conflict||War of the Five Kings|
|Result||Golden Company victory|
Storm's End was taken by Aegon Targaryen and Jon Connington during the War of the Five Kings.
At Griffin's Roost, Jon informs Aegon that he means to take Storm's End within ten days. The prince agrees with the plan, but demands he lead the attack himself. The small council later hears reports of Connington marching on the castle.
During her journey to meet Aegon, Arianne Martell is told by Haldon Halfmaester that Storm's End has fallen and that Lord Connington awaits her there.
An army from King's Landing, assumed by Daemon Sand to be led by Mace Tyrell, is descending on Storm's End in response to this development. Haldon claims that Aegon means to meet this army in open battle.
Storm's End. He cannot take Storm's End. Not if he were Aegon the Conqueror. And if he does, what of it? Stannis holds it now. Let the castle pass from one pretender to another, why should that trouble us? I shall recapture it after my daughter's innocence is proved.
Doubt, division, and mistrust will eat the very ground beneath your boy king, whilst Aegon raises his banner above Storm's End and the lords of the realm gather round him.
